Pete Hanson is one of those songwriters who can find a song in the muddle of everyday life. Based in the New Forest, he’s a regular face on the local folk scene, playing at Milford Folk Club and in church worship bands.

Pete’s songs draw on folk, blues and classical influences, and on the world right around him – coastal life, local tales, little irritations, and the odd good-natured moan. From ‘It’s the Little Things’, an amusing take on ageing to ‘The Look of You’, his take on the popular local pastime of smuggling (historic), Pete finds surprising and amusing connections where by rights there should be none.

Milford on Sea is an unusual place, populated by soft hearted people only too willing to house a rescue cat or dog. Pete sort of fits this mould but as a retired electronics designer much prefers rescuing derelict electronic music equipment with a soldering iron, multimeter, precision screwdrivers, hex keys and of course his trusty hammer!
