Gritty realism? Rising body count? Relationships gone wrong? That, in a nutshell, is Rangoon. Defiantly original yet with the powerful drive of the blues, the live performances of this band are electrifying.

A tight team led by Will Hudson (songwriter, vocals & guitar) delivers tales of survival against the odds. Each song conjures up a unique world of conflict, challenge and the intractable. Yet there’s always a sense of hope, despite the ever-present temptations of whiskey, cigarettes and femmes fatales.

We don’t quite know how she does it but drummer Michele Haniotis beats an extraordinary drive out of the humble cajon. Howard Sarna, on lead guitar, creates memorable melodic soundscapes for each song while Paul Kendall propels everything forward with a powerful bass. Rangoon are true Local Legends and an evening with them is definitely an evening well spent.
