Steve has been a fixture of the New Forest folk scene for so long that we suspect that he has grown roots! With a discerning ear for a story and an eye for an injustice, Steve’s carefully crafted original songs explore universal themes which he delivers with a soft passion that belies their depth and scope.

No subject is off limits. His original songs explore a wide range of topics from historical tales of banditry, smuggling and shipwrecks to intimate, delicate songs of love and loss. He’s even been known to put the odd poem by the great Alfred, Lord Tennyson to music.

Steve is a selfless and generous supporter of live folk music whose encyclopaedic knowledge of the topic is regularly called on to identify the origins of an obscure tune. He is also a ruthless fund raiser for good causes and is often found orchestrating the most outrageous of raffles.

Steve is a true legend and we can’t wait to hear, record and share more of his music with a wider audience.
